PROGRAM:
Destination weddings have grown a staggering 84 percent in the past five years and continue to be one of the hottest growing segments of the wedding market. Are you ready to take this journey? This session will help you check a few items off your packing list. Fill your “suitcase” with such valuable information as: how to market to this bride, what you need to know regarding logistics, and how to weave a consistent theme throughout all activities.
But most importantly, you will learn how to create a sense of place at this session. Discover how to infuse a destination wedding and its surrounding activities with a flavor of that culture’s customs, cuisine and history.
From Ali Phillips, Engaging Events by Ali, who has planned destination weddings in the United States and abroad, get tips on what new skills to add to your repertoire (i.e. travel agent and guide as well as shipping specialist) and how to research and find the hidden gems of that particular destination.
And from Andrena “Dina” Douglass, one of the nation’s top destination wedding photographers, you will get an idea of what works and what doesn’t from her many years of experience. She’ll share lessons learned (and a few horror stories) that will be of interest to any wedding professional planning to work overseas. Dina will also talk about creating a sense of place through photos and her philosophy of “day after” shoots.
